According to The Miami HeraldYuniel Mato Gonzalez (34 year old male from Hialeah) was arrested on St. Patrick’s Day for felony evasion of police after a simple speeding stop on the water.  According to the report, Gonzalez is alleged to have been speeding in a no wake zone on his jet ski.  Not a good thing to do, but not exactly a felony.

According to the article, Gonzalez initially stopped, but then took off in what was reported to be a 45 minute chase through the Florida Keys waterways.  Not only did he allegedly flee law enforcement, he is also accused of doing so with his 6 year old riding in front of him at speeds of up to 70mph.

Fortunately, with the help of witnesses, police were able to catch Gonzalez on land walking alongside US-1.  His son is reported to be okay.
